AUTHORS & EVENTS COMMITTEE - Attention, readers! This committee researches, vets, and contacts authors for the festival as well as organizes and handles coordinating the overall festival lineup. The perfect committee if you would like a say in authors invited to future festivals.

MARKETING COMMITTEE - Help us spread the word about the festival to the Chippewa Valley through press releases, social media, e-newsletters, posters, and more. Graphic and web design experience desirable but not required.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE - Love planning event details? This committee organizes the festival meal events, coordinates drivers for out-of-town authors and presenters, and assigns hosts for authors and greeters at the events.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE - The festival needs the financial support of local businesses and community members in order to continue bringing in award-winning authors. If you’re outgoing and enjoy making connections across the Chippewa Valley, consider sharing your talents and time with this group.

YOUNG WRITERS COMMITTEE - this committee celebrates the talents of our youngest authors by selecting participants for the Young Writers Read Showcase and coordinating day-of logistics of that event.

OUTREACH COMMITTEE - This is a new committee addition for the 2023 festival. Goals for the committee include connecting with local community organizations/groups and outlying libraries as a way to expand our marketing reach and coordinating the distribution of festival newspapers and fliers ahead of the festival.

SHORT-TERM EVENT VOLUNTEERS - Looking for a more limited volunteer commitment? Most activity will occur within 6 weeks of the festival. You'll be asked to do things like deliver newspapers/posters, assist with book sales, move marketing between venues, and fill in to support committees as needed.

FESTIVAL CHAIRPERSON - Ideally two individuals co-chair the festival and offer support to all the committees in order to offer a seamless communication structure. The festival chairs draft agendas for and lead monthly Steering Committee meetings.
